Adekola Banjo Akanni

Adekola Banjo Akanni (Omo Baba Oni cocoa) was born to the Late Alhaji Ganiyu Akanni Alimi Aroyehun and the Late Mrs. Samiat Akanni. He was born 04/19/1977 and died 06/08/2023, aged 46. He was the fourth of the seven from his mum and sixth of the seventeen in the family from his dad. He was born in Ileogbo, Aiyedire, in the Local Government area of Osun State, Nigeria, where he started out his life. He did his primary education at NUD Primary School, Ileogbo. His Secondary education at Iwo Grammar School (IGS) Iwo, Osun State. He has an associate degree in computer studies from Federal Polytechnic Offa, Nigeria and an HND in computer science from Federal Polytechnic Offa, Nigeria. He also holds a graduate degree Senior Phase and Further Education and Training from The University of South Africa-UNISA, a bachelor’s degree in science education from North-West University South Africa, and is certified in Introduction to Data Analysis using Microsoft Excel and Python for Data Science (SQL). At age 20, he made a trip to Lagos State, Nigeria and started his life as a cold-room boy, stirred through life, had his kids, raised his kids. He was a great father to all his kids. He worked at Rono’s Fisheries Nig. Ltd, before moving to Punch as an Online News Editor (Web Master) in Nigeria. He moved to south Africa in 2009, the South African Council for Educators licensed him as an Educator, and he became a Math/Science Educator. He was a great Educator in South Africa, and he taught heartily, as it was an honor and privilege to him leading his students to success. He moved to the United States in 2016 for a better future for his kids where he met his wife, Sarbieh N Kargou and her boys and made a bigger family. In 2017 after moving to the US, the Illinois State Board of Education - Professional Educator also licensed him as an educator. He then started his job as a Correctional Officer (for the Texas Dept. Of Criminal and Justice), before moving to be a Seasonal Sorting Associate (Amazon) US, then he moved to being Independent Contractor (GrubHub; DoorDash). He was a family-oriented person and always wanted his family together, he was a reserved, respectful, and humble man. He was a thorough man, and he did not make or take a decision without thinking it through. All his kids were the foremost on his mind and heart in all he did. He never left anyone to go astray as much as he could he was a man of dignity, and he lived a life he was grateful for in the end. He started his business in an Auto dealership far back as 2019 Adex-Afric Corporation, he was a self-employed successful businessperson who is known for dealing with integrity and humility with everyone he knew businesswise and in life. He is survived by his wife, daughters, sons, and siblings.
