Alicia Matlock

Alicia Rhiannon Matlock, 48, of Houston Texas began her journey to Heaven on June 12, 2025. Alicia was born on July 14, 1976, in Houston, Texas at Southeast Memorial Hospital to Caresse Suzette Hayes, and Ronald Clark Burdett. She attended Aldine Senior High School before attaining her Level 1 certificate in Human Resources Specialization. She was very recently working towards her level 2 certificate and finished her summer class early, and with a 95. She strived to help people and better herself. She had many career achievements, from management to insurance, but most recently held a position at Sprouts as the Senior Bulk Clerk, after 9 years. A position created especially for her. Alicia fought hard against all of life's struggles to accomplish the things that she did, and we are endlessly proud of her. Alicia married Brad Matlock in 2004 in Austonio, Texas and celebrated 21 years of marriage in January. Alicia has 4 children: Tyler Clark, Lexus Rhiannon, Briana Jazlyn, and Shayla Jade. Her self-proclaimed 4 greatest accomplishments in her life. And with that, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Owen Clark and Lorelei Evelyn, whom she had the pleasure of being the World's Best Mimi to. Along with being a wife and mother, Alicia is the oldest sister of 4 girls: D'auna Lea, Audra Marie, and Della Katherine. She is survived by her father Ronald Clark and preceded by her mother Caresse Suzette. She leaves behind daughter-inlaw Kathleen, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and loved ones, as well as stepdaughter Maddison, and her children Emerlyn, Weston, and one more grandbaby on the way. Family is what is important to her overall, and having so much of it is such a blessing to her. Mom enjoyed the small things. She enjoyed things around her looking organized, and nice. She enjoyed seeing, smelling, hearing, and feeling things that made her happy, a song, a flower, a thoughtful gift, reading her bible, or exchanging kind words. She just always wanted to feel nice. She loved music, and she lived through that; it was her escape and her passion. She was a bright soul, and her love is immensely felt after her passing. Her loved ones will always remember her as someone who never failed to display resolute selflessness, even at great personal cost. Her legacy is love, and even though her body isn't here, her love is felt wrapped around those she held dear. We remember Alicia as the embodiment of love, and a positive, generous, and caring person who was a beacon of light in the dark for many. 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." Celebration of life details to be announced by family.
