Alvin Sanchez

Alvin Sanchez, Age 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024. He was born on December 16, 1941, in Harlingen, Texas to Jesus and Dorita C. Sanchez. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend. Alvin led a full and varied life, deeply committed to his family and his work. From his early days working as a produce manager to owning convenience stores and a car sales business, he clearly had a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. His passion for horses, and baseball adds another dimension to his life, reflecting his diverse interests. He also cared deeply for his children, regardless of the challenge he faced as an adult. Al was a man with a big heart who would bring a smile, and usually a laugh, to his presence. He loved to regale others with his stories from the past and was always sure to crack a joke. His legacy will surely live on through the memories and impact he had on those around him. Throughout his life, no matter the ups and downs, he remembered his faith in God. He will be met in heaven with open arms. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Sanchez Sr. and Dorita Sanchez, and Brothers: Lelo Sanchez, Alfredo Sanchez, Jesus Sanchez JR., Salvador Romero Sanchez; and Jose Sanchez, Sr.; his oldest son, Hector Sanchez, and his daughter Leigh Ann Sanchez. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving wife, Ana Alicia Calderon-Sanchez, his loving children, Abel Sanchez, Sr. (Rita), Janie Gonzalez (Richard), Rosalva Treviño (Carlos), Patricia Ann Gonzales (Robert), Michael Lee Sanchez (Norma), Jonathan Alvin Sanchez (Amanda), Gerald Martinez (Julianne); 20 grandchildren, Ayrton Sanchez, Abel Sanchez, Jr., Gabriella Sanchez, Devin Sanchez, Isaac Sanchez, Blake Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, Janae Gonzales, Caitlin Bethel, Sergio Rios, Devin Rios, Catherine Treviño-Illikainen, Kimberly Cantu, Valerie Gonzalez, Michael C. Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Christina Sanchez, Tristan Martinez, Jeremiah Martinez, Nathaniel Leija; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Roberto Sanchez (Lucy), Ambrocio Sanchez (Ana), Juan Sanchez (Elvia), Apolinar Sanchez (Nora); sisters, Sophia Pecina, Margarita Garcia (Joel), Ester Jones, and Mary Diaz (Joe); along with numerous nephews and nieces.
