Cecelia Noel

Cecelia Elizabeth (Miller) Noel was born April 20, 1930 and she passed away March 12, 2018. Born the sixth child of Edward and Stella Miller in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she completed grade school at St Boniface Catholic Church and graduated from St Scholastica girl's High School. She married Pat Guyse Noel in 1955, then moved to Texas, settling in Houston in 1956. She worked in the oil business, starting as a secretary; she ultimately became a certified petroleum landman in 1981, something of which she was justly proud; she was one of the few women at the time to attain that title. During her career, she worked for Austrol Oil and Superior Oil Companies; however her favorite employment was with the King Ranch Inc. and King Ranch Oil and Gas Company, stationed in Houston. As part of her duties she spent time at the King Ranch House in Kingsville. While her initial career was in oil, her vocation was as a religious education teacher in the Catholic Church, a calling she pursued long after her three sons finished school. She taught at St John Vianney Parish, St Edward Parish, and Prince of Peace Parish. Her other vocation was as wife (married for 59 years until Pat's death in 2015) and mother to their three sons. She was always delighted to be around her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward and wife Mary, John, Earl and wife Flora Jean, Thomas; sisters, Patsy Keating and husband James, Margaret Kemp; sister in law, Dorothy; daughter in law, Laurie; brother's in laws, Robert W and wife Louise, Leon and wife Hilda, Charles Ray; sister in law, Thelma Louise; parent's in law Robert and Pattie Noel; nephews, Leonard Blaschke and Mike Witt; nieces, Mary Keating and Yvonne Mayes; and numerous beloved cats in her lifetime. She is survived by her sons, Martin wife Cheryl and their children, Tristan & Megan); James and wife Kathy, their sons David and fiance Christine and Christopher and wife Sarah and their daughter Annalise; Richard and wife Kathy and their daughter Claire; brothers, Prince Miller and Robert Miller; sisters, Nancy Blaschke and husband Leonard, MaryJane Patterson and husband John; sister's in laws, Jane Witt and husband Bill, Mary Miller and Rea Miller; and numerous nephews, nieces and their descendents. Cecelia's family extends our deepest gratitude and love to Christa Jernigan and her team of compassionate caregivers for 10 plus years of dedicated service to our family.
