Charles Cornelius “Chuck” Horgan On Wednesday March 17, 2021 Charles Cornelius “Chuck” Horgan loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 86 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Chuck was born February 15, 1935 in Puerta Castilla Honduras to Cornelius and Sara Horgan and lived in Honduras, Guatemala and the United States while growing up. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Geology. He went into the Army in 1956. After he was discharged from the army in 1958, he began his long career working in the oil industry, primarily as a geophysicist. He married the love of his life Frances Mann on March 26, 1960 and together they raised their three wonderful children Cathy, Chris and Stephanie. Chuck was a crack shot with a pistol and was on the Fifth Army Service Pistol interservice competition team and later won numerous competitions while competing as a civilian. Chuck wanted his family to see the world, so he transferred with his job to Australia then Singapore. Vacations were exciting and included trips to Africa, Japan, Thailand, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and many more. No matter where the family traveled or what language was spoken Chuck always took his family to church on Sunday. Chuck was a proud member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He liked nothing more than buying cakes during the annual church festival and giving them to the maintenance workers, so they know that they were appreciated. He also worked for many years as a volunteer in the church print department and counting the collection money. He was active in the community outside of the church as well and loved helping those who needed assistance with their tax returns but couldn’t afford to pay for it. His other contributions included driving sick people to their cancer treatments and doctor appointments and mentoring many people both at work and in life. He is survived by his wife Frances Horgan, daughter Cathy Cagle and husband Joe Cagle, son Chris Horgan and wife Susan, daughter Stephanie Horgan, grandchildren Cody Cagle and wife Amanda, Collin Cagle and wife Corrin and his brother Dick Horgan and wife Nina. He is predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Caroline. Please have flowers delivered to Christ the Good Shepherd.
