Donato R. Rios Jr.

Donato Rios Jr., 45 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 10, 2014. Don was born on January 19, 1969 in Hartford, WI. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Rios; son, Phillip Rios; daughters, Krystin Rios, Savannah Rios, and Gabriela Rios; parents, Donato and Gloria Rios; brother, Roman Rios and wife Rachel; sisters, Pamela Arreola and husband Roberto and Sandra Rios and fiancé Luis Castellanos; father and mother-in-laws, Arthur and Josephine Martinez; brother-in-law, Arthur Martinez; and numerous more nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Don’s priority and passion was family. He enjoyed spending time going on camping trips to the Frio River, Disney world, zoo trips and the beach. He especially enjoyed taking his kids for donuts before school and Friday “movie night” at home making popcorn with his own Lincoln Popper. He took great pride in his children and would often brag to friends and family about their accomplishments. Don was a great athlete growing up playing baseball, basketball and other sports but it was tennis that was his second passion and gave him the most satisfaction. He was an avid and competitive tennis player and was ranked #2 in Texas for USTA MEN’S 45 and #30 nationally. He was a joy to watch on the tennis court and was admired for his talent but also for his great sportsmanship. Dr. Rios graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in 2004 and built Field’s Chiropractic into a successful and thriving practice in Spring. He was admired and respected by his patients, friends and family. He was known for often times saying, “This is going to hurt but you’ll feel better later”. Being able to help alleviate the pain of his patients truly gave him the sense of fulfillment. He was a lover of Jesus Christ and was thankful for the blessings of family and friends and the gift of healing through Him. A man of integrity and a zest for life he will be remembered most for his love of family and friends, his sense of humor and dedication to helping others. The family wishes to thank their family, friends, friends of friends and neighbors for their prayers, meals and generous donations. They also wish to thank the nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast and the nurses at Houston Hospice for treating Don with the utmost compassion and dignity.
