Ellen D Ford

Ellen Dale Forwood Ford, age 76, passed peacefully into the Lord’s tender care on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her home in Spring, Texas. Known as one to whom none was a stranger, Ellen leaves behind a legacy of compassion, caring and service to those around. Her loving heart and empathetic way will be missed by many. Ellen was a gift to her earthly parents, Bernard Edward Eric Forwood and Myrtle Jenkin Forwood, on Father’s Day, June 19, 1938, in Anaconda, Montana. Eric Forwood was the long-time projectionist at the Bluebird and Washoe Theatres in Anaconda. While attending Anaconda High School, Ellen found the love of her life, Larry Raynor Ford. September 11, 2014 marked 59 years of their union. Both Ellen and Larry were in the Anaconda High School class of 1956. Larry was a mainframe computer executive with Control Data Corporation. His job took the family to Salt Lake City and Ogden, UT; Minneapolis, MN; Longmont, CO; and Spring, TX. Ellen devoted her life and many talents to the care and nurturing of her children and grandchildren who retain a legacy of compassion and love. Others were the beneficiaries as well, as Ellen put her talents and creative energy to work on many a wedding, shower, anniversary or other important occasion. Her legendary letters and cards brightened the soul and spirit of countless individuals. Ellen is predeceased by her parents, Eric and Myrtle Forwood; her elder brother, Edward Leroy Forwood of Anaconda, who passed away on May 31, 2014; and her son, Edward Larry Ford. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Ford of Spring, Texas; three daughters: Kimberly and husband Colin Gilboy of Heber City, UT; Joyce and husband Kevin McKaughan of Tomball, TX; and Dawn and husband Tony Biggert of Tomball, TX; six grandchildren: Eric Ford of Longview, TX; Lacey and husband Jon Hemphill of Clearfield, UT; Clay Biggert of Spring, TX; Brady Biggert of Spring, TX; Savannah Biggert of Tomball, TX and Sean Gilboy of Heber City, UT; three great grandchildren: Weston, Cason and Taylyn Hemphill of Clearfield, UT; a brother, William Forwood and wife Linda of Missoula, MT; two treasured sisters-in-law: Anita Ford Anson of Atkinson, NB; and Thelma Forwood of Anaconda, MT; and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. Friends and family are invited to share their memories at a visitation on Wednesday, September 17 from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, TX A celebration of life funeral ceremony will take place at Northside Christian Church – 20250 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, TX – at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 18. Northside’s minister, David Garison, will officiate. Immediately following the ceremony, Ellen’s ashes will be interred in a graveside service at Tranquility Oaks cemetery at 22302 Hildebrandt Road.
