Ernestine Irene Hill

Ernestine Irene Hill was also known as Tina, Sissy, Nana, and Aunt Tink. Tina was 71 a mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt, and friend to many. She was born on April 9, 1953, in Houston Texas to Pearlie Mae Cole-Hutchins and Father Harold Hill Sr. She entered the gates of Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2024, peacefully with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Hill Sr., Pearlie Mae Cole-Hutchins, Stepfather Otis Hutchins, brother Victor Lee Hutchins, and Grandson Cody Wayne Hickson. She is survived by her brothers Harold Hill, Vaughn Hutchins, and Vern Hutchins, daughters Tammy Hickson, Tracy Threlkeld and husband Toby, Son Charles Edward Hickson, Grandchildren Mason, Emily, Colby, Elizabeth, Kastin, Kaylynn, and her grand puppy Hershey, grand cat Kitty. In 1993 Tina earned her Nursing Degree from Kingwood College. She would spend many years Taking care of those who could not care for themselves. She took pride in her job and was good at it. She would say it was a true blessing to be able to know how to take care of her loved ones and others. Her Uncle Doc was a doctor who she admired very much and inspired her to become a nurse. She still has his old medical bag that was given to her tucked away in her closet. Tina loved nursing and she especially loved taking care of the elderly. She loved her “nanny’s and Pawpaw’s, as she would put it. It takes a strong person to become a nurse and Tina was very strong. She set aside her life to care for her mother, her aunt, her ex-husband, and her boyfriend when they became ill. She was able to care for and provide comfort to each in their time of need. This speaks volumes to the type of person she truly was. Tina loved to dance and when growing up she wanted to become a ballerina, but her feet landed on the wooden saw dusted floors where she would boot scoot and boogie to the songs of George Strait and boy, did she have some rhythm. Tina faced numerous health challenges throughout her life, and she fought valiantly against cancer, facing each diagnosis with remarkable courage and resilience. She was our “Wonder Woman”, a Cat with 9 lives”, She is without a doubt the strongest woman that we will ever know. Tina will be remembered for her originality and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
