James Dale Francis

James “Dale” Francis was born on August 2, 1969, in Houston, Texas and passed away at age 54 on April 12, 2024, in Tomball, Texas. Dale graduated in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a manager at Target stores for 7 years and worked as an auditor at The Texas Railroad Commission for over 20 years. Dale’s life was forever changed in 1997 when Blake Andrew was born and he became a father for the first time. God blessed him again in 2000 with the birth of Alec James. And Dale became a “girl Dad” to Robyn Grace in 2005. Dale’s favorite moments most often were with Blake, Alec and Robyn. The proud father of three never missed a chance to spend time with his children. Whether it was cheering on his beloved Astros, enjoying dinner at Three Salsa’s restaurant, or attending one of his children’s extracurricular activities—that was the best time of his day. Dale loved his family immensely and enjoyed all the fun family gatherings. His witty spirit and infectious laugh were ever present when he spent time with them. He was a kid at heart and loved being “Uncle Dale” to his nieces and nephews. Dale was an attentive son and enjoyed spirited conversations with his brothers Marc and Jason. He was a kindhearted individual with a selfless nature that never met a stranger. Always a sports fan and knowledgeable of all sports facts, Dale’s favorite place to be was on the golf course. His love of the game began in his teens and continued throughout adulthood. Dale will be forever missed by his family. He is survived by his children, Blake Andrew, Alec James, and Robyn Grace and their mother Jessica; his parents, John Rufus Francis, Jr. and Clara Martin Francis; brothers John Marcus and his wife, Carla and Jason Rufus and his wife, Lori; nephews Nathan, Garrett & Blane; and nieces Eva, Evelyn & Brinley. As we bid farewell to James “Dale” Francis, let us celebrate the wonderful life he lived and honor the memories he created. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all as we navigate the journey ahead. Pallbearers for the service will be Blake Francis, Alec Francis, John “Marc” Francis, Jason Francis, Nathan Francis, Garrett Francis.
