James "Jimi" Whitehead

James Patrick Whitehead May 4, 1959- October 12, 2025 Heaven has gained another sweet angel. After fighting his heart complications, the Lord called him home. Jimi is now in heaven with our Lord and Savior. James, known as Jimi, was born in Baker, Louisiana to mom Frankie Ramona and dad Alvin. He attended Baker High School and went on to join the Navy. Afterwards, he forged a career in car sales where he procured great talent, success, and endless relationships that are maintained today. He eventually settled down in Tomball, Texas with his wife, Lisa. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by resilience, love, compassion, and playing music. He had a kind heart, gentle soul, and generous spirit. He loved going to gigs with his wife, Lisa Whitehead, and playing his bass guitar. He especially loved having his personal entourage of family and friends when he played. He was a talented musician who started at an early age and never lost his strong love for music. His true artistic spirit of long hair and Converse has lasted through his many decades and seasons of life. Jimi’s infectious laughter will stay with us forever. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh. Once he got on a roll of joking and laughing, nobody ever wanted him to stop. His sense of humor was unmatched. He was a true family man, and nothing ever got in the way of that. He was an extremely hard worker who always showed up - rain or shine. He was the living example of “the show must go on” through his endless activities of being on the go. Jimi was a live wire with a motivated nature. He treated people with fairness, loyalty, and dependability. He was a true example of an “unruffled” person. Jimi’s outlook on life was something to be modeled. He had a lightheartedness about him that brought a calm demeanor, steady influence, and reassuring presence. Jimi is survived by his wife, Lisa Whitehead, his brother Dick Whitehead (wife Lynn Whitehead), sister Debi Whitehead, and sons Casey Whitehead, Dylan Whitehead, Dalton Cross (wife Kristen Cross), Joseph Labauve (fiance Darlene), his daughter, his beloved cat Daisy. Jimi was the cherished “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren: Jaxon, Kamryn, Kershaw, and Lucas, Reid, and Aiden. He was loved deeply and dearly by all.
