Jerry Ray Festervand

Preceded in death by his father, Jerry Ray Festervand, Sr. Survived by his mother Ruby Festervand and his loving wife Rhonda of 36 years, Sons and daughters-in-law: Juston and Kristen Festervand, Jordan and Chelsea Festervand, Grandchildren: Avery, Easton and Jacob Festervand, and numerous family and friends. Jerry and Rhonda were high school sweethearts and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1983. Jerry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also served on the Trinity Lutheran School Board for 8 years. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather (Pops), brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He cherished time with his family. His son’s were his best friends and he loved spending time with them – regardless of what they were doing. He didn’t consider his sons’ wives as daughters-in-law, they were ‘his girls’ and he loved them as his own. He and Rhonda loved to cruise together, and go on adventures – recently to Germany, Alaska and Hawaii. His passions included fishing, taking cruises, the Cowboys Football, Astros Baseball, spending time at the beach, motorcycles, anything with a motor, camping, snorkeling, zip lining, parasailing, Reese’s candy, and most of all taking naps with his grandbabies. He had a knack for remembering things his loved ones would mention, and would do special things to brighten rough days. Jerry honored his word, and lived his belief of ‘Do the Right Thing’ and ‘Do Things Right’ and if you commit to something – you see it through. He coached both Juston and Jordan’s baseball teams when they were younger, and spent most weekends and summers travelling to baseball tournaments – and loved every minute. He also served as a member of the Klein Oilers (football) board during the years that Juston and Jordan played football. When there wasn’t a baseball or football game, his time was dedicated to the boys’ basketball games and practices. Jerry was passionate about his family and his friends, and would drop anything to help someone – regardless of the time, day or night. He had special ‘nick names’ for his loved ones. Jerry worked in the oilfield when he and Rhonda married, and moved into the auto industry in 1985 where he worked for Robbins Nissan for 28 years. He developed life-long friends at Robbins. In 2013 he left the auto industry and began working for Harris County Precinct 4, where he remained until his unexpected passing. He truly loved and took pride in his job at the County and developed a number of close friendships there. Jerry received a number of notes from constituents in the county regarding his professionalism and friendliness. Jerry will always be cherished by those who knew him. He loved a good joke, and pulling practical jokes on family and friends. He was truly a one of a kind man who loved making people smile and laugh.
