He was sixty-one years of age. At his bedside was his wife of nearly eleven years, Angela Sauceda, who was a devoted and loving spouse. In death, he was surrounded by his family and loved ones, who will strive to honor the memory of such a dynamic and amazing man. There was no better husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend than our beloved Luis. Jose Luis Sauceda was born on June 11, 1960, in Tampico, Mexico to Porfirio Sauceda and Maria Elena Hernandez de Sauceda, whom he dearly loved. He had two wonderful children, of whom he was immensely proud, Gunnery Sergeant Emmanuel Sauceda, currently stationed in San Diego, California with his wife, Caprice Sauceda: and Suylan Sauceda of Houston, Texas. He was also a wonderful stepfather to Elana Dunn and her husband Matthew and Carl Clifton Elliot III and his wife Brandee, both of Beaumont, Texas. He was a resident of Spring, Texas where he lived with his wife Angela, lovingly hosting many family members, friends, colleagues, and fellow church members of Champion Forest Baptist Church, which he faithfully attended; and his grandchildren, Marcus, Megan, Ana, Jacob, Adelina, Gabriel, Samuel, Isaiah, Sophia, Jack, and Isla, who he faithfully served, laughed with, instructed, and loved. Luis was preceded in death by both of his parents, Porfirio and Maria, and is survived by his wife, Angela Sauceda; brother, Porfirio Sauceda, of Edinburgh, Texas, and his wife Santa and their three beautiful children, Cynthia, Claudia, and Ana; his sister Maria Magdalena and her husband Jesus, and their beautiful children Sofia, Victoria, and Gabriella. He greatly loved both of his siblings and was a wonderful uncle to his precious nieces, all six of whom he cherished. Luis has many extended family members in Mexico; aunts, uncles, and cousins, who he remembered in his thoughts and enjoyed visiting. Jose Luis Sauceda, first and foremost, loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Nothing brought him more joy than to worship his Savior and share the truth of the gospel with his family, friends, and patients. Luis was an intelligent, complex, and passionate man. He loved to dance salsa and cook salsa. Many of his dearest friends and family can attest to his amazing cooking, wonderful homemade salsa, and his zest for living. He was the kindhearted Registered Nurse that many knew and loved, and a gifted Nurse Practitioner who treated every patient with dignity, patience, and marvelous skill. To work with Luis, know Luis, serve alongside Luis, be loved by Luis, love Luis, and to share in his life and passion was the greatest gift we will ever know.
