Michael Cunningham

Michael Chad Cunningham ran into the arms of Jesus on August 18, 2021 at the age of 44. Mike lived big! He loved to hunt, fish, boat, and travel. But what Mike loved more than anything the world could offer is his children; Ethan, Maddilyn, Kyler and Landry Cunningham and Alexis and Ansleigh Deal. To know Mike, was to know how much he loved being a dad. Michael was born in Big Lake, Texas on May 14, 1977 to Terry and Vicki Cunningham. Mike was a loving son and brother. He spent his life building a legacy of hard work and dedication to service through his companies TC Safety and then Gryphon. Mike loved his business partners and work associates almost as much as he loved his family. On June 12, 2017 life changed for Michael when he met his greatest love, soul mate and best friend Shandon (Crawford) Cunningham. Michael and Shandon immediately fell in love with one another and were inseparable, working side by side to build a beautiful family. They loved, supported and adored one another. The two were married two short months ago on their 4-year anniversary. After a 4 weeklong battle with Covid-19 we had to say goodbye to our friend, our father, our husband, our son. Our lives will never be the same without his laughter and jokes. Our spirits are crushed but not broken and we will work to live life BIG in honor of who Michael was. There is a saying in a movie “Remember kid, there’s heroes and there’s legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.” Michael you are a legend to each of us who lives you touched, your memory will never die. Left to hold on to his memory are his wife, Shandon (Crawford) Cunningham, 6 children; Ethan, Madilyn, Kyler, Landry, Alexis and Ansleigh. His mother, Vicki Cunningham, of Midland. Father Terry Cunningham (Tonya) of Phoenix, Arizona. Sister Mandy Capps of Midland. His father and mother in law Dennis and Karis Crawford of Abilene and far too many friends to count. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Saturday, August 21st at 2pm and the family will receive guests at 1pm. Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Road, Spring. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at CHI St. Luke's Hospital of the Vintage who cared for Mike. In lieu of flowers to the family please send gifts, flowers or food to the staff at the hospital who worked to save Michael.
