Nicholas Arthur Currier

Nicholas Arthur Currier, “Nick,” left this world at the age of seventeen on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Cypress, Texas. He was born on Monday August 25, 1997 to his loving parents Bryan Wayne Currier and Angela Dawn Currier in Redding, California. Nicholas spent his childhood and early preteen years driving his mother up a wall in San Diego, California with the assistance of his older sister, Tiffany Lynn Currier. Among their many shenanigans were pillow forts at Grandma’s house, playing “Horsey” with their uncles, Lugie Hocker wars, and the infamous game of “Airplane Crash” which involved running into one another until someone cried. Nick also enjoyed the family pass-time of baseball, attending countless Padre games (although his favorite team was the L.A. Dodgers) and participating in local baseball leagues until his freshman year of high school. It was there in Cypress that his handsome face, luscious dark hair, unique sense of style and gregarious personality earned him the reputation of ladies man, and the envy of every lesser boy in Goodson Middle School, later Cy-Woods High School. In addition to these winning attributes, Nicholas loved music of all sorts, heavy metal, classic rock, alternative, oldies, classical symphonies, grunge, and old school rap. He also appreciated the occasional toke, much to his mother’s dismay. In spite of those mild irritations from motherly concern, Nicholas brought joy to all who knew him, friends, family, teachers, and random strangers that crossed his path. Loved by many, Nicholas will be dearly missed. To remember the life of our beloved Nick, a Memorial Service will be held at 1 o’clock on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, Texas 77379. Nicholas is preceded in death by his father, Bryan Wayne Currier, his uncle, Troy Currier, his great-grandmother, Mildred Currier, his great-grandfather, Mayes Hugh Simpson, and his great-grandmother, Delores Alline Simpson. His spirit lives on through his mother, Angela Dawn Currier, his sister, Tiffany Lynn Currier, a loving family too large to list and numerous other special friends. On a final note, I leave you with the chorus to one of Nick’s favorite songs: “The Joker” by the Steve Miller Band. “I’m a picker. I’m a grinner. I’m a lover and I’m a sinner. I play my music in the sun. I’m a joker. I’m a smoker. I’m a midnight toker. I sure don’t want to hurt no one.”
