Sara Morrison

Sara Mariana Morrison was born June 7, 2012 in Texas. She is the beloved daughter of Norma and Douglas Morrison. She is survived by her brother DJ and her sister Samantha. She is also survived by her 3 grandparents, Norma Joya, Susan Morrison, and John Hall Morrison. Sara’s aunts and uncles are Sabrina Austin, Alicia Joya, Dora Joya, Claudia and Cristian Vega, Lisa Morrison, Heidi and Rigoberto Simental, Bryce Morrison, and April Morrison. She has 2 cousins, Cristian and Camila Vega. Sarita was ADORED by her family and made them immensely happy! The ‘Hot Dog’ song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was her favorite song. Sara deeply loved her parents and soaked in every cuddle, kiss, and hug she received from them. She liked road trips, sitting in her Bumbo, swimming at the beach, and swinging in the neighborhood park swing. She could not get enough of cold smoothies, peaches, and her birthday cake icing. Baby Sara’s nicknames are Bañana, Chuba-lubba-dubba, Chubster, Boo, and Sadit. She loved it when her brother read her stories, and her sister sang to her the ABCs. She always wanted to be in the midst of all the action happening in her home. Her brother and sister will miss her being the Monopoly banker, playing peek-a-boo with her in the mornings, and cuddling with her on the couch while watching Mickey Mouse. Sara loved being outside. She had a blast camping at Siesta Key, Florida with her family for a week! At 1 month of age, Baby Sara suffered a series of strokes that erased almost all the higher mental functions of her brain and caused most of her organs to shut down. All of her organs recovered except her kidneys. After spending 3 months at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Clear Lake Regional Hospital on dialysis waiting for her kidneys to recover, her parents prayerfully decided to put her life in God’s hands and discontinued her dialysis treatments. From her blood work, her doctors estimated that Baby Sara would only live a week without dialysis. God had other plans for Sara Mariana and miraculously she lived for 9 months longer than expected! She got to celebrate her 1st birthday with her friends and family! On Sunday, July 10, 2013 our precious Sara Mariana returned to her Father in Heaven. Even though Sara was only with her family for exactly 13 months, she lived life to the fullest and happily accomplished everything her Father in Heaven sent her to do. Without saying a word or even smiling, she touched the lives of many people including her church friends, neighbors, and sweet PICU nurses & doctors. Her family anxiously looks forward to being reunited with their Chubba-lubba-dubba. Sara Mariana will be missed!
