Sharon Torres

Sharon D. Davis-Torres entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, McKenly and Dora Davis and her two sisters, Ruby M. Davis and Beverly Warren. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Long Island, New York. She attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Bronx, New York. Sharon later attended ITT Technical Institute in Newport News, Virginia where she received her degree in Information Technology. She also attended Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia where she pursued a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She had a career in Law Enforcement at the Sherriff’s Department in Newport News, Virginia. Sharon later accepted a position at Nextel in Newport News, Virginia where she worked until she became ill. Sharon was a loving and faithful wife and mother. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for her family and closest friends. She wouldn’t think twice about helping anyone in need. Sharon had a bubbly personality and the brightest smile that would light up the room every time she walked in. She was a true warrior of life and her strength encouraged many people. In the midst of her pain and suffering, Sharon still found a way to put a smile on her face. She never allowed her situation to slow her down and she enjoyed life to its fullest; even until the very end. Sharon also had a passion for the Lord and gospel music, which helped her through many trial and tribulations. She was a phenomenal woman and nothing could stop her! Her memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Phillip J. Torres; her three sons, Philip Seymore (Keisha) of Newport News, VA; Antonio Seymore (Navia) of Dallas, TX; and Justin Torres of Del Ray Beach, FL; one daughter, Eboni Torres of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, McKinley Davis of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, SandraDavis and Yvonne Allen of Bronx, NY; two sisters-in-law, Diane Todman (Robbie) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Lisa Torres Chico (Moises) of Ft Lauderdale, FL; father and mother-in-law Jamie and Maggie Torres of St. Croix, United States of the Virgin Islands; six grandchildren; Uriah, Shiloh, Sarah, Philip, IV, Aki- yah and Asja; and a host of other relatives and friends.
