Shawn Abrams

Shawn Lief Abrams passed away on Thursday July 20, 2017. Shawn was born in San Antonio, TX on September 25, 1975. His family moved to Galveston when he was eleven months old. From the very beginning, Shawn was a sports fan. He would dance up and down as he watched his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. One of Shawn's great dreams came true last year when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Shawn played baseball with the Galveston Little League and football with the Galveston Boys' Club. After moving to The Woodlands in 1988, Shawn played football at Knox Jr High and went on to play defense for the McCullough Highlanders. Shawn served as an acolyte in Galveston at the William Temple Foundation and St. Augustine Episcopal Church and continued in The Woodlands at Trinity Episcopal Church. After graduating high school, Shawn enrolled in the United States Army Reserves and went to the University of Houston where he joined the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He transferred to Texas Tech where he became a die-hard Red Raiders' fan. He graduated with his bachelors degree in Public Relations in 2001. Shawn then moved back to Houston to pursue a successful career in sales. He worked the last five years as the top salesman at Neuralog. Shawn developed a passion for running, and ran in a number of marathons. Three years ago Shawn met Noel Flynn, a teacher soon to be the love of his life. Shawn expressed two things to his mother: he never knew teachers worked so hard and that Noel knew how to direct him "gently". Together they enjoyed travel, tubing and hiking as well as attending sports events, frequently accompanied by Shawn's nephew, Jonathan, who Shawn loved to spend time with at Astros games. Shawn is survived by his mother, Marta Abrams, his sister Amanda Perez and brother-in-law Larry Perez, his nephew Jonathan Perez, significant other Noel Flynn, father Felix Abrams, and Uncles Ray Shreffler, and James Terry Shreffler, and numerous lifelong friends. Visitation will be held at Addison Funeral Home 18630 Kuykendahl Road Spring, TX on Friday, July 28th from 5-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church 3901 S Panther Creek Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381 at 11:00 am. Graveside service open to family members only.
