Steven Raymond Herron

Steven “Steve” Raymond Herron October 12, 1956 – May 22, 2014 Steve was born in Houston, Texas. He passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Tuesday evening, May 22, 2014. Steve will always be remembered as a faithful man of God and a loving father. Steve is survived by his children. His son Richard Roberts and his wife Reba and their three children Bryant, Alayna and Elyse, His daughter Brittney Rehg and her husband Daniel, His daughter Rachel Brass, his son Jeremiah Herron and his daughter Trisha Manges and her husband Benjamin. Steve is also survived by his brother Mike Herron and his two sisters Lyn and Dianne and their mother Sylvia Branham. Steve was preceded in death by his father Mike Henry Herron. As a young man he married and moved to New Waverly, Texas and started a family. Steve worked tirelessly to build his business where he did landscaping and sprinkler system work. He was a family man in every sense of the word and loved nothing more than to just spend time with his kids. Steve had a passion for the Lord and spent as much time as he could ministering to others. On many occasions he would buy groceries and go door to door in the poor neighborhoods passing out food and other necessities. He would talk and visit with anyone that would listen and share the gospel of the Lord. He would also go under the bridges in downtown Houston and provide warm meals to those in need. Steve never cared what anyone would think of him, he just did what was right no matter the cost. Steve always spoke of the time when he would leave this life behind. He never wanted to be remembered for fortune or fame, but rather his only hope was that he could touch many lives and bring them to the Lord before he left this world behind. He always asked that there be no tears for him, for he believed it should be a celebration. He believed that once his duty on this earth was finished he would go home to his father, and for him that would be the greatest day of his life. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." – Revelations 14:13
