William Williams

William Ray Williams, 76, was born on April 4, 1939 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Surrounded by loving family and friends, he peacefully passed away on February 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Grace Williams, his son Robert Todd Williams, and brothers Dave Jr., Van Dale, and Merle Williams. He will be fondly missed by his beloved wife, Dee, of 39 years, children: Stephanie Schillaci and David Eubanks II; Grandchildren: Natalie Powers and her husband Jason, Anthony Schillaci, Savannah Cavazos and her husband Carlos, Caitlin Young, Megan Young, Catherine Eubanks, David Eubanks III; Great grandchildren: Jackson Powers, Reagan Powers, and Madison Powers. He is also survived by his brothers Leo, Verle, John, Jerry, Jack Williams, sister Dorothy Davenport and their families including numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Growing up in Oklahoma and Kansas, Bill graduated from East High School in 1958 where he excelled in varsity wrestling. After graduation, he immediately enlisted in the US Army where he dutifully served his country, and was honorably discharged. After the Army, he attended Wichita State University, and went on to graduate in 1968, in spite of working full time, and taking care of a wife and two small children. He moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1969 with his family to pursue career opportunities. He married the love of his life Dorine (Dee) Soechting on May 1, 1976, and moved shortly after that to Houston, Texas where he lived until his death. Bill was a loving husband and grandfather who will always be remembered for his love for the annual Williams Family Reunion, where despite any physical adversity or pain made sure he attended every single one of them until last year when he was too sick to travel. He also loved photography, scrapbooking, genealogy, and keeping up with his grandchildren’s adventures and achievements. A memorial will be held on Friday, February 13, at Woodland’s Church - Chapel, The Woodlands, Texas at 10am followed by a luncheon. Remembrances would be appreciated to the Houston Area Parkinson Society.
