Anita Abad Evangelista

July 12, 1930 - August 18, 2020

Mrs. Anita Abad Evangelista, daughter of the late Diego and Anatalia Abad was born on July 12, 1930 in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. She attended Philippine Normal University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She became a public-school teacher, an adviser, and a treasurer at Mariano Ponce Primary School in Manila, Philippines. To further her studies, she obtained her master’s degree and became Master Teacher II; it has an equivalency of principal designation. But because of her vocation to serve the community, she opted to become a teacher community coordinator. She was united in holy matrimony to Felimon Evangelista Sr. on April 15, 1961. She is survived by their three biological daughters: Evangeline, Ellen, Emma, and their respective husbands, Robert, Virgilio and Geraldo. Through God’s blessing, they embraced three adopted children: Felimon Jr., Asuncion, and Emmanuel, and their spouses Grace, and Marcelino, who they treated like their own. They have 12 grandchildren: Joanne, Robert Jr. (deceased), Ian, Gerard, Gabriel, Norman, Jerrimae, Gayle, Geraldine, Gianne, Omar, and Christian. Mrs. Evangelista was a Philippine veteran of World War II and a member of Philippine Veterans Association. She was also a member of Handmaid’s of the Lord - Missionary Families of Christ. Her passion for cooking entailed her to serve the MFC Music Ministry and gathering for families and friends. Her hospitality, generous spirit, pleasant personality, and her strong faith will forever inspire the hearts of all who knew her. She truly was a mother to all and will be missed dearly, everyday. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Houston Northwest Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
