Clayton Lyman Sevy

April 16, 1982 - February 15, 2022

No services are being held through Addison Funeral Home. Please have all flower arrangements sent directly to the church the day of the service. Clayton Lyman Sevy passed away on February 15, 2022. Clayton was born in 1982 in American Fork, UT and grew up in East Texas and later Spring, Texas. He was an accomplished athlete that craved competition and was feared by his opponents and celebrated by teammates on the wrestling mat and football field. Clay was an avid outdoorsman and earned the coveted rank of Eagle Scout. Scouting in reality was just a vehicle for him to learn the fundamentals of what he would later share with other friends, youth and his own daughters fishing, exploring, turtle-catching and adventure seeking. After graduating from Klein High School, Clayton served a 2 year mission in Neuquen, Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shared his profound belief in a loving God and Savior and a restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Clayton returned from his mission and attended Brigham Young University where he started a family and graduated with a History degree from Brigham Young University. He continued his education and graduated with honors from the SJ Quinney Law School, University of Utah. Clayton lived for today and tomorrow and spent little time looking in the rearview mirror. He was a skilled prankster filled with charisma, charm, and creativity. He loved and laughed deeply (and irreverently during family prayers). His regrets were few but included, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys during the 90’s, eating gas station hot dogs before a workout in 2008, accidentally eating canned cranberry sauce at a Thanksgiving, and using spray tan on multiple occasions. Of all his career accomplishments, Clayton was most passionate about personal training and physical therapy. He was a gifted athletic trainer, motivator and healer. His gift of healing was developed through school, study and lots of practice. He shared his gift with others including MMA fighters, geriatric patients, and other athletes of all ages. Clayton helped heal countless ankles, knees, shoulders, hips, backs, and necks for clients, friends, and family. Clayton was also a creative entrepreneur, innovator, businessman and salesman. Clayton was always the big idea-guy and will absolutely be remembered as the life of every reunion, business meeting or party! Clayton’s greatest accomplishment (aside from outliving Betty White) are his 3 daughters, Kenzie, Josie, and Goldie. His ultimate joy in life was taking his three “wolf pups” on an exciting adventure. He is survived by his beautiful children Kenzie, Josie and Goldie Sevy, his loving parents Duane and Bobbie Sevy, his dear fiancé Holly Poplawski, siblings: Kathryn Brown and her husband Vince, Jacob Sevy and his wife Dana, and Spencer Sevy and his wife Natalie. Clay’s two grandmothers Vida Sevy and Lou Anne Grigg still carry the family legacy of faith and fortitude and represent a united family spread across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Utah. Clay is preceded in death by his 2 grandfathers, whom he was named for, Clayton Grigg and Lyman Sevy. Funeral services will be held on 5 March, 11:00am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 19920 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX 77379. A celebration of life and reception will be held on 4 March, 6:00pm-8:00pm at the same location. Flowers may be delivered to the address above between noon and 8 p.m. (4 Mar) or 9-10 a.m. (5 Mar). Flowers can be ordered through the local shop https://www.themaryslittleshopofflowers.com/ @ 281-537-6279.
