Clifton Peter Gautreaux Jr.
March 5, 1944 - January 12, 2021
Clifton “Clif” Gautreaux, at age 76 earned his Eternal wings peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 12, 2021. He fought a battle of Pancreatic Cancer and survived it like a champion. In the end, damage to his lungs was more than his body could handle and the Lord called him home to rest. He was a good man, who loved God and his country. He was an Army Veteran who loved big and lived life to the fullest while here on earth. He will always be remembered for his smile, his strength and most of all his family. Distance did not make a difference to him, he loved, cherished and guided everyone with his wisdom. He particularly cherished his wife with all of his heart. (His Sassy Lassy) Cherishing his memory he leaves his wife of 39 years Jan Gautreaux of Tomball, Texas, his son Clifton “Bud” Gautreaux III (wife Tina) of Fort Walton, Florida, daughters Angela Gautreaux Barnes (husband Isaac) of Foley, Alabama, Cory Nicole Delcambre of Maurice, Louisiana and Jade Ellender (husband Ramon) of Tomball, Texas, his sister Elizabeth “Liz” Gautreaux Riddle of New Iberia, Louisiana, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and would proudly share stories of each of them with whomever would listen. He is preceded in death by his parents Clifton Gautreaux, Sr and Verna Mae Dore', brother Elton Gautreaux and brother in law Bill Riddle. We have peace knowing that they welcomed him into the gates of Heaven, his Eternal resting place. We would like to sincerely thank Traditions Hospice Services, along with Dr. Jafri and staff for the love, care and compassion they showed to Clif and the family during this journey. God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so He put his arms around him and whispered “Come home with me.” With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, a determined spirit was at rest... God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
