Deborah Jan Cook Schonauer (Debbie) was called to Heaven before dawn Wednesday, November 4th, 2020. Debbie was born June 24,1953 in Ohio and in 1982 married Thomas Robert Schonauer and both headed to Texas to start their lives together. Debbie is proceeded in death by her Father, Albert Wesley Schonauer, Mother, Evelyn Cook and Brother, William Thomas Cook. Debbie is survived by her loving husband Thomas Robert Schonauer and children, Wesley Thomas Schonauer and wife Summer, and Lauren Elizabeth Schonauer; Brother, John Cook and wife Pat and sister, Judy Cook and husband Donny; Grandchildren Amara and Koen Schonauer and Chloe Crenshaw. In addition, Barbie Cook, widow of William Cook. Also, to be acknowledged are her numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was an incredibly thoughtful, generous and loving person. She saw the good in every situation and the beauty in everything around her. Being a wife and mother was her greatest joy in life and being a Mimi only amplified that love. She cherished her family above all. She showed unconditional love and support to all that knew her. Debbie had a way to make everyone she met feel loved and special. She was the glue not only for her family but for so many around her. Her presence will be felt and missed by all that knew her. To know Debbie was to know love. Debbie’s long career in substance abuse counseling allowed so many to find hope in recovery. Her compassion and love for others saved so many lives and healed many hearts. We will always hold Debbie close to our hearts and will be forever grateful for our time with her. Debbie, your faith that placed you in God’s hands will serve as strength and serenity for all of us who will miss you every day.
