“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” 2 Corinthians 5:8 On April 9, 2021, God’s precious child and faithful servant was called home to be with Him. The Lord welcoming her with His great big comforting arms and a kiss on her head. She’s in her daddy’s arms now. We can see her standing nice, tall and proud. A great big smile on her face. She has won her race and was faithful to the end. What a beautiful mighty woman of God she is. She stood out in a crowd. She was confident, strong, and never complained. Although we know life threw her some challenges not once or twice, her eyes remained on the prize. She walked with pep in her step and always greeted you with joy in her voice almost as if was she was singing and rejoicing in Life. Oh, we know that she knew some things, had learned some things throughout her journey. It seemed circumstances could not bring her down. She had the keys to life, the answer to every question, the secret to happiness, contentment, and a reason to dance. She is a woman to be admired, never to be forgotten, one of a kind. Better than an angel, this wife, mother, sister, friend. She knows the power of prayer, the power of faith, the Love of God the Father, her family, and her friends. You will be missed dear friend but we keep you in our hearts. Every word, touch, hug, smile, laughter, prayer, chorus sung with you will be treasured until we meet up with you in Heaven our home sweet home. – Betty Rendon Jada Thigpen was born February 1, 1959 to the late Mary Blackwell and Albert Dwight Blackwell, Jr. aka Daood Shabazz, Gafney, SC She attended Northeast High School, McLeansville, NC and was employed by Kindred Healthcare and Luby’s restaurants for several years.
