Janice Lynn Smith

Janice Lynn Smith of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, May 1, 2022. She was born August 2, 1941, in Tyler Texas to William M. Garrett and Edith L. Garrett. She loved and married Curtis C. Smith and together they raised their 6 children who were their pride and joy. Her husband Curtis C. Smith, son Clinton Alton Smith, brother William Garrett Jr. and sister Carla Jean Garrett proceeded her in death. She is survived by her sister Naida Garrett; children Carl Smith and daughter in law Allison Smith of Willis, Darryl Smith and daughter in law Tammie Hicks of Baytown, Karen Tipton and son in law George Tipton of Spring, Kathleen Smith of Spring and Carol Bowie and son in law Derek Bowie of Sanger. Janice has 14 grandchildren: George Tipton II, Paul Teuscher, Kurt Teuscher, Dillon Smith, Kira Smith, James Smith, Lauren Estes, Savannah Smith, C.J. Smith, Lexy Stites, Jordan Tipton, Jacob Bowie, Owen Bowie, Brett Bowie, and numerous great grandchildren. Janice loved listening to country music, family gatherings and road trips to Waco, Texas to visit old friends. She was an incredible person, devoted wife, mother, and care giver to her disabled sister. She had an undeniable love for her family. Janice was compassionate, caring and loving to all who knew her. Though she is no longer in our sight, Janice will remain very much a part of our hearts as her family we will continue to honor and celebrate her memory.
