Jerry McMeans

August 28, 1939 - February 19, 2020

The Addison family and staff extend their heartfelt condolences to the McMeans family in their time of loss. Jerry Max McMeans, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Magnolia. He was born on August 28, 1939 in Jacksonville, Texas to Robert (Eddie) and Gladys (McFadden) McMeans. He graduated from Dialville High School in 1957. From there he entered into the Navy. He married Karen Turner on October 28, 1961. Jerry was a member of the church of Christ where he served as an elder. He worked as a drilling superintendent in Crane and surrounding area for Getty Oil/ Texaco until his retirement; then he and Karen moved to their dream place in the country near Proctor Lake. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and country living. He was often found with a coffee cup close by and a good story to tell. Jerry is survived by his son, Scott McMeans of Brenham, and his children Justin and Shane McMeans, and Ashleigh Degraffenreid; daughter, Lisa Holland of Magnolia, and her children Travis, Karisa, and Blake Holland; son, Tim McMeans of Odessa, and his children Jade and Jake McMeans; sister, Jan Nutt of Longview; brother, Fred McMeans of Hurst; 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Gladys McMeans, and his wife Karen Turner McMeans. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the love and prayers for our family over the past several weeks.
