Jolynn Lynn Trussell

October 25, 1953 - August 26, 2021

Jo Lynn Trussell Jo Lynn (Miller) Trussell, 67, of Houston, TX, went to be with her heavenly Father on August 26, 2021. Jo Lynn was born on October 25, 1953, and grew up in Wichita, KS, attending Magdalene and Mt. Carmel schools. In Wichita, she met and married John Trussell and started their family. Jo Lynn loved her family and took pride in caring for her mother, Louise Miller, and children Sally (Trussell) Woolley and Clayton Trussell. Jo Lynn and her family moved to Atlanta and Indianapolis before officially settling in the Houston area. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, attended women’s Bible studies, volunteered in church, and was a prayer warrior. In Houston, she joined Northwest Bible Church (NWBC) and made lifelong friends with the women in the Barnabas Bible Study. When Sally went to A&M and Clayton went to the Citadel, Jo Lynn divorced and began working at Dillards. She worked there until her health began to decline but continued to be a faithful prayer warrior on Wednesday nights at NWBC. After her retirement, she moved to Orange, TX, to care for her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Jo Lynn enjoyed living at Optimist Village and made frequent trips to Houston for her prayer group and to visit her son, Clayton and his wife, Shannon, her niece Mia Miller Harpel and her great-nephew, Gregory Barth, and her many friends. Jo Lynn was known for her fervent prayer, strong devotion to God, and thoughtful nature. She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Louise Miller, brother, Michael Miller, and sister, Kay Crovatto. She is the proud mother of Sally (Tim) Woolley of Orange, TX, and Clayton (Shannon) Trussell of The Woodlands, TX; grandmother to Addison, Callie, Carter, and Reid Woolley; sister to Keith Motley; aunt to Mia Miller Harpel, Eric Evans, Ritchie Evans, Tara Motley and Devin Motley; great-aunt to Gregory and Matthew Barth, Tegan Motley, and Keith, Holden, and Jarrett Motley; niece to Rita McWilliams, Shirley Taylor, and Dorothy Quick, and a loving cousin to many in the Oregon and St. Joseph, MO areas that Jo Lynn always called home. A celebration of Jo Lynn’s life will be held on September 18, 2021, among family in Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to NWBC Between Jobs Ministry, 5503 Fellowship Lane, Spring, TX 77379, in her memory
