L.A. went home to Jesus on June 24, 2022 at the age of 92. L.A. was born to Lena Mae and Lucious Adam Helton on January 20, 1930 in Waterman, Texas. As a young man, he joined the United States Army where he served in the Korean war. He then earned the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the UN Service Medal. L.A. met his wife, Betty Jane, at the Santa Fe Railroad Hospital in Temple, Texas. They married on April 26, 1963 and went on to have two children, Joyce and David, adding to their existing family of two, Cindy and Mike. They established their family home in Hitchcock, Texas. They later moved to Tomball, Texas where they have many close family and friends today. In addition to being a loving husband and father, L.A. also worked his entire career for the Santa Fe Railroad and owned a TV and radio repair business. He and Betty attended Spring Creek Fellowship church in Tomball. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. L.A. joins his parents Lena and Lucious, his sisters Dean and Rilla, his brothers Forest and Jake, and his daughter Cindy in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Betty, his sister Faye, his brother Les, and his children Joyce, David and Mike. Exodus 23:20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.”
