Linda Kay Lechlider

January 19, 1941 - June 18, 2021

LINDA KAY LONGACRE LECHLIDER - Passed away on June 18, 2021 at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. Born January 19, 1941 in Tulsa OK to Marguerite Doran Sparks Longacre and Maxwell Willard Longacre. Linda attended Edison High School where she met and married Charles Edwin Lechlider in 1958. Their first son, Ronald Dean, was born in 1960 in Lawton, OK while Charles was in the Army. Kevin Todd was born in 1962 also in Tulsa, OK. The family arrived in Houston, TX in 1963 via railroad into Union Station. Linda was a stay-at-home Mom until the boys were old enough to stay at home after school by themselves. Linda began her career working as a secretary for Pyramid Manufacturing, then moved to Baker Hughes Navigation location, then Denny’s Corporate office and retired from Grant Prideco, Inc. Linda devoted her life to service, she opened her door to many families that needed help and was a charter member of Job's Daughters and Rainbow Girls in Tulsa, OK. She was a member of the Eastern Star Women's group of the Masonic Lodge. She has been a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, acting as a Chapter Officer and Chapter Sweetheart. Linda was the epitome of graciousness and beauty, inside and out, always welcoming others with her sweet smile, open arms and a loving heart. Linda was an accomplished painter for most of her life and painted much of the artwork in the annual Sorority Scrapbooks. Linda is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Edwin, and their two sons, Ronald Dean and his wife Ellen, and Kevin Todd and his wife Bobbie; and her brother Maxwell Longacre, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the charity of your choice.
