Myrtle Jackson

July 24, 1936 - January 29, 2022

Myrtle Nola Ruth Long Murphy Jackson, 86, of Spring Texas passed away on January 28, 2022. Myrtle was born on July 24, 1936 to the late Griffin and Cora Long of Detroit, Michigan. She was born the 3rd child of 12 children. She was born on a farm in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Her family moved to Detroit, Michigan when she was four. There she met he first husband, Leo L Murphy. He joined the army and they traveled to different states and several countries. They had three sons and eventually settled in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She divorced her first husband and later met Kenneth Jackson. Kenneth and Myrtle were married for 49 years. They lived in Spring, Texas for the last six years. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, son Mark Murphy, one brother and three sisters. Myrtle is survived by her sons and their wives, Bobby and Crystal Murphy, Johnnie and Valerie Murphy both of Spring Texas, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three sisters and four brothers and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 9525 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, Texas. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George County, Virginia.
