Nellie Jean Turner

Jean was born April 16, 1935 in Pittsburg, TX to parents Joseph Riley Downing and Emma Lee Dillon. She attended school in Ore City, TX and graduated in 1953 from Diana High School. She was salutatorian of her class and played basketball which she still loved to watch especially the Houston Rockets. She was also a huge fan of the Houston Astros. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, all six of her siblings, husband Bill and two children, Jack and Joyce. Jean is survived by her oldest daughter Marlene Martin, her daughter Jennifer (Jerry) and their children Mary, Lily and Jerry; her son Bill (Tiffany) and their children Brandon, Ryan, Skyelor, Nicholas and Jaxon. She is also survived by granddaughter Lynda (Leo) and their children Christopher, Corynn, Christian and Ashley; Grandson Michael (Danielle) and their children Kamron, Kaleb, Ta’lynn, Maddox and Summer as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
