Phyllis Caroline Weber McFarland was born on August 14, 1937 in Queens, New York to Paul and Margaret Weber. She passed away peacefully on March 30, 2022 at the age of 84. Phyllis always loved to and had a passion for dance. During her high school years in New York she tried out for and was chosen to be a part of the World Famous Radio City Rockettes but was unable to travel with the company. She did musical theater and performed in many shows. Most notable was her role in Rebecca of Sunnybroook Farm. She moved with her three children from New York to Florida in 1972 then to Texas in 1977. She made a career in the hospitality industry as a Catering Director in hotels until she retired at the age of 71. Phyllis also loved to write essays and short stories, of which she submitted to several publications. She was a Christian and brought up in the Lutheran Church. She was a loving, caring, giving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a kind, compassionate, gentle, genuine and beautiful woman. She was strong, independent, a fighter and never met a stranger. Phyllis is preceded in death by her father, Paul, her mother Margaret and her sister Joan. She is survived by her daughter Doreen Gatewood and husband Bobby, her son Glenn McFarland wife Sandy and granddaughter Madison, daughter Diane McFarland and granddaughter Abbey McDaniel. Along with her extended family, Candice and Chad Shetsky and their son Derek Lee; Amanda and Beau Gatewood and their children Libbie, Blake, Tanner and Maddie; Cody and Michelle Gatewood and their children Alley and Ashton; and Bailey Gatewood as well as her dearest best friends, Jean Perlman and Sondra Young. “If love would have kept you here, you would have lived forever, I hope you dance!”
