Susan Fisher
February 28, 1952 - April 1, 2022
Susan Fisher was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She went home to meet her Savior on April 1, 2022 at the age of 70, after a brief battle with cancer. Susan was born to Earl and Marie Thompson of Houston on February 28, 1952. After graduating from Waltrip High School, she moved to San Marcos, Texas to attend Southwest Texas State University. It was there that she met her husband, Scotty Fisher. Together, they raised their three children: Carrie Sue, Scott Jay, and Sarah Beth. Susan loved spending time in both her garden and her kitchen, and she was skilled in both places. She was known for always putting everyone’s needs before her own, and going the extra mile to support her children’s many extracurricular interests and activities. She selflessly gave so much of her time to various school clubs and community organizations. Susan and Scotty both shared their faith in God, and raised their children in First Baptist Church in San Marcos. Family was always the most important thing in Susan’s life, and in 2019 she moved to Spring, TX to live closer to her mother, brothers, cousins, and her large extended family. Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband Scotty Fisher and her father Earl Thompson. She is survived by her three children, her four grandchildren, her mother Marie Thompson, her two brothers Raymond and John Thompson, and dozens of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at 2:00 pm at Gateway Church in Spring. There will be a viewing and visitation at 12:00 pm, also at Gateway. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Susan’s name to the United Way, an organization for which she volunteered for decades.
