Angela Fay Mercer

Born on Aug 19, 1949, in Mena, Arkansas, Angela, who went by Angie, departed our world for a better place on May 2, 2024. Angie led a life that was filled with challenges and impossible choices but always survived and lived for her children; she is survived by her children, Mark and Scott Davison, and grandchildren Zachary Davison, Luke Davison, and Bailey Davison. She was always kind, loving, and helpful to everyone she was around. She was just a beautiful soul and truly wanted the best for everyone; she was a place of peace and love for all. Angela had great love and pride for her children and was always there for them. When she wasn’t working, she was supporting her kids in their school and sports, and making root beer floats when she got home from the second shift of nursing at the hospital. Angela was the daughter of a WWII soldier, Roy Parsons, who she loved very much. Through her life she learned strength, perseverance, and commitment; these traits helped her to raise two sons that later became Marines: one a businessman and the other an engineer. She was the epitome of someone who kept getting up after getting knocked down and pushed forward. She really enjoyed life, sometimes taking things as they came, sometimes doing things her way. Her spirit was always high and indominable as many can attest to the life she experienced. She always maintained her faith in God despite the abuses she faced. Christian hymns were her favorites to listen to, especially if they were sung by Elvis. From humble beginnings and through challenges many could not have pushed through, she became an LVN while caring for and supporting her family. She was a dedicated nurse at Conroe Regional Medical Center who put a lot of hours on her feet for her patients. She put a lot of her life on hold as mothers do for their children but later, she was able to finish her goals and pursue her happiness. She resided in Pond Creek, Ok and pursued becoming an RN. Once she accomplished this, she moved on to being a traveling nurse in her sporty yellow Dodge Charger that she had fun driving and just showed she could be a little adventurer at times. This was evident with her chasing the bad guys that tried to rob her in her fast car, going on cruises, and following Donnie Edwards around, who was her favorite Elvis impersonator. She loved listening to Elvis, travelling with her friends to watch Donnie’s shows. She really caught up on a lot of life that almost passed her by, but one thing she left behind was the lesson that we do have time and with patience, we can make our own happiness and peace. Angela passed away from Alzheimer’s and we are thankful for the time we had with her before the Lord called her to be at rest with Him. She gave a lot to this world, and we are all the better for it. She is preceded in death by her husband Royce G. Mercer who supported her in her goals and whatever obstacles might be in her way in being there for her children. She loved him greatly and will be reunited next to him at Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. Words cannot describe how much Angela Mercer will be missed but she will always remembered by all who have known her.
