Charles Syptak

CHARLES SYPTAK, 75 Charles Leon Syptak, 75, of Spring, Texas passed away, October 16, 2013 surrounded by his family after a long battle with health problems. He was born October 8, 1938 to Elo and Mary Syptak in Houston, Texas. On July 2, 1965 he married Katherine Chapman in Houston, Texas. Charles is survived by his beloved wife Katherine of 48 years, son Charles Jr. (Debra) Syptak, daughter Christine (Byron) Butts, stepson Rayburn (Gayla) Johnston; grandchildren Erik, Brandon, Summer, Michael, Charlie and Sydney; great grandchildren Landon and Aidan; brothers Gary (Judy) Syptak, Jack (Sonny) Syptak; sisters Shirley (Paul) Machac, Beverly (Greg) LaRue; mother Mary Syptak Florian; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Elo Syptak, daughter Karen Woods, mother and father-in law James and Katherine Chapman and his grandparents. Charles graduated from Regan High School in 1957 and from Texas A&M University in 1961 with a BBA in Business Administration. While attending A&M he was a Lieutenant in the Corps of Cadets Company I-2. After graduation he joined Ernst & Ernst where his tenure was interrupted by a two year tour of duty with the U.S. Army. He held the rank of First Lieutenant and served as Operations Officer at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Upon completion of his military service he returned to work for various companies including Ernst & Ernst, Rice Hotel, National Convenience Stores, Presidents-First Lady Spa, and completed his career in Real Estate with Red Carpet Jackson Hooker Realtors, ERA Syptak Bros. Realtors, and Re/Max Realtors. Charles was a devout Christian who had a love for anything outdoors including sports, fishing, hunting, golf, and tennis. He enjoyed dancing, church and family activities. Charles was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Chapel, 5201 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, Texas 77379. Memorials may be made in his honor to the Herman Schaefer Scholarship Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5201 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, Texas 77379 (please add Charles’ name and address on your donation).
