Olivia Gutierrez

Olivia Gutierrez, age 91, of Houston, TX went home to be with the Lord on June 6th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 17th, 1934 in Maxwell, TX to Jesus and Amalia Gomez, Olivia lived a life marked by faith, hope, generosity, and kindness. She was known for her sweet and sassy personality, her strong faith in the Lord and the way she loved to care for her friends and family. Olivia had a gift for staying close to those she loved, and you could always count on her faithful prayers in any time of need. Olivia married Natividad Gutierrez on April 19th, 1952 and the couple had 3 boys and 1 girl. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and faith. She was a proud daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Olivia was an honored member of North Central Assembly of God church where she found joy in serving the Lord, spending time with her church groups, teaching Sunday school, and serving in the women’s ministries. Outside of church, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She had a green thumb when it came to her plants and flowers. She loved selling her goods at craft shows and garage sales. Olivia was the number one fan of the Astros. She loved to travel to new and old places with her family, and traveling to see her extended family.She cherished playing Chalupa and games with her friends and family. More than anything Olivia loved the Lord and lived each day in the hope of eternity. We rejoice knowing that Olivia is now in the presence of Jesus, fully healed and fully home. She is survived by Robert (son) and Yolanda Gutierrez, Tom and Ann (daughter) Novark, and Oscar (son) Gutierrez. Grandchildren Angela (granddaughter) and John Fruge, Desiree (granddaughter) Gutierrez, Derek (grandson) and Casey Gutierrez, Anthony (grandson) Gutierrez, Victoria (granddaughter) Novark, Jordan (grandson) and Zoriada Novark, Nathan (grandson) Gutierrez and Makenzie (granddaughter) Gutierrez. Great-Grandchildren Drysten Sebesta, John Michael Fruge, Delaney Sebesta, Annie Fruge, Canon Fruge, Anthony Fruge, and Ava-Marie Fruge. She is preceded in death by parents Jesus and Amalia Gomez, sister Anita Gutierrez, husband Natividad Gutierrez, and son Natividad Gutierrez Jr. A celebration of life will be held on June 11th, 2025 at 12:00, noon, at Addison Funeral Home 18630 Kuykendahl Rd. Spring, TX, 77379 with burial to follow at Tranquility Oaks Cemetery. All are welcome to join us in honoring and remembering Olivia Gutierrez’s life and faith. The family would like to thank Vitas Healthcare Hospice Team, Dr. Jamison, Joe, Frances, Augusta ,Ella, and several others for their professionalism, kindness, care and compassion.
