Ronald Vincent Godwin Sr.

Ronald Vincent Godwin Sr., 62, of Spring, Texas, passed away on June 11, 2025. Ron was born on November 10, 1962, in Mobile, Alabama to Levoris (Godwin) Jacobs. Upon graduation from Williamson High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. During his service, he deployed to South Korea and Japan, attaining the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1987. Following his military service, Ron worked for multiple large communications companies. During his final employment with Hornbeck Offshore, as a marine merchant, he earned the US Coast Guard certificate of QMED-OILER. After more than 20 years in a loving relationship, Ron married Rachelle (Holmes), August 24, 2022. They were deeply committed to one another as well as their blended family. Ron was a world traveler who immensely enjoyed the culinary arts, was a tech enthusiast, and an avid fan of anime and Godzilla movies. He will fondly be remembered as a patriotic veteran with a jovial demeanor, problem solver extraordinaire, and never having met a stranger. Ron is survived by his wife, Rachelle Godwin, of Spring, TX; his mother, Levoris Jacobs, of Mobile, AL; his aunt, Gwendolyn (Leslie) Byrd; his uncle, Lavance Williams; his sisters, Sharon Buford and Rose Christian; his brother, Richard Godwin; his daughters, Christina Frank and Pamela D. Frank; his son, Ronald V. (Kermeria) Godwin, Jr.; his stepsons, David (Lydia) Holmes and Tristian Jackson; his stepdaughters, Kalina Holmes and Amya Jackson; his nieces, Damaris and Denesha Christian; his 18 cherished grandchildren and 6 precious great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Rose Jackson; his grandmother, Edna Godwin; his uncle, Carlton Godwin; and his great grandson, Aiden Solomon. Celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00am, on the 26th of June, at Addison Funeral Home in Spring, TX. Graveside service will be 1:30pm, on the 26th of June, at Houston National Cemetery; 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. Repass to follow at 19427 Rosebud Ridge Way, Spring, TX.
