"Rosie" Miguelina Nick

Miguelina “Rosie” Nick, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on November 28th at the age of 94. Her remarkable life was one of strength, faith, and resilience. Rosie will be remembered as the heart, leader, and strong force of her family. Rosie was born 09/29/1931 in Cabimas, Edo. Zulia, Venezuela. She grew up in humble circumstances. Her childhood was difficult, shaped by poverty and responsibility far beyond her years, as the oldest of five. She emerged strong-willed, fierce, and determined to build something better for herself and those she loved. That determination carried her across countries, careers, and decades of life. Rosie spent her adult life in Houston, where she built a long career as an executive bilingual secretary in the oil and gas industry. She was known for being sharp, organized, and always in charge — qualities that earned her deep respect from colleagues and admiration from those who knew her well. Her greatest joy came from family and faith. Rosie was deeply involved in her church, attending services as often as she could, volunteering at the church’s food pantry, and singing proudly in the choir. She loved being of service, and she loved being surrounded by her church family just as much as her own. Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Frederick Nick who passed away in December 2002. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Melissa, her two grandchildren, Alexa and Andrea, her three great-grandchildren, Bella, Tyce and Billie, and her two living sisters, Doris and Aida, and countless nieces and nephews. She was the oldest living member of her family — a matriarch whose long life stood as a testament to perseverance, faith, and resilience. Those who loved her will remember her for many things: her strength, her stubbornness, her leadership, her generosity, and her deep belief in saving and preparing for the future. But above all, Rosie will be remembered for the love she poured into her family and the legacy of determination she leaves behind. Rosie lived through much, accomplished much, and loved much. Her story will continue in the generations she shaped and the lives she touched. The family will honor Rosie with a celebration of life on December 12 at 2:00 pm at Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Rd., Spring, TX 77389. She will be cremated, and all who loved her are welcome to join the family in remembering her extraordinary 94 years.
