Roy Dean Berger Jr

Roy Dean Berger Jr, [65], of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Roy was born on May 9, 1956, in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. Roy would eventually meet the love of his life Olivia Coronado Berger, and together they celebrated 43 years of marriage. Roy and Olivia went on to have two daughters, Laura Berger Navarrete and Cassie Berger. Roy successfully owned Trophy Drywall, eventually retiring in 2015 after seven years of ownership. In retirement, Roy pursued his love of watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. He attended every practice and game they played. Roy also taught them to drive his Ford F350 on country roads and to build a barn on the ranch. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and shared that passion with his grandchildren. His knowledge of how to survive the country and how to fix things were unmeasurable and he passed that on to his granddaughter and grandsons as well. Roy’s love for his family and friends is what motivated him every day. He was a good and honest man. Roy was preceded in death by MaMaw and PawPaw (John and Mary Berger), his uncle Donnie Berger, sister Virginia Sue Kemp, in-laws Gonzalo and Olivia Coronado, brother in-law Tony DeLosSantos, and numerous family and friends. Roy is survived by his beloved wife Olivia Berger, daughter Laura Navarrete and her husband Christopher, and daughter Cassie Berger. Grandsons: Israel Florez, Izaiah Florez, and Tristan Navarrete. Granddaughter Ilyssa Florez. Great Grandchildren: Mathew Florez and Melanie Florez. And he is survived by his siblings, Kenny Kologinczak and Diana Allen. Olivia Berger would like to thank the people of The Methodist Hospital of Willowbrook, all the doctors who treated Roy, the nurses, the PCA’s, IR staff, the transport team, and hospitality. She would also like to thank the DaVita Dialysis Center of Vintage. Olivia would also like to personally thank the following Doctors: Dr. Julio Rodriguez, the nephrology team from Houston Kidney Specialist Center, the gastroenterology team from Texas Gastro Specialist ,and Cardiologist Dr. Alkadoummi.
