Susie Granados Sanchez

Susie Granados Sanchez, 79, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born on July 10, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Francisco and Jesusita (Susie) Granados. In 1969, she married Eugene Arriaga Sanchez, and they shared 25 years together. Susie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her two sons, Eugene Eric Sanchez, Trish, and Gabriel Arriaga Sanchez and his wife, April; her three grandchildren, Eric Anthony Sanchez, Taylor Morgan Sanchez, and Eli Eric Sanchez; (and her step-grandkids Aiden, Katrina, and Lilith). She is also survived by her brother, Joe Nemesio Granados and his wife, Gloria; her sister, Carmen Granados Arrambide; her loving sisters-in-law, Aurora Granados and Leticia Granados; her beloved friend of 50 years, Esther Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember her. Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Sanchez; her parents, Francisco and Jesusita Granados; and her siblings, Anita, Isabel, Frank Jr., Elvira, Raymond, and Gloria. Throughout her life, Susie worked hard and proudly spent 45 years in three different industries. She began working in retail grocery during her adolescent years, later spending several years in the printing industry with various printing companies throughout Houston. She also worked as a private caregiver, providing compassionate care to elderly patients. Susie found joy in the simple things in life. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, and listening to praise and worship music. She enjoyed shopping, dining at Luby's and Landry's, and, most of all, spending precious time with her family. Her faith, warmth, generosity, and love for those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Susie leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, family, and cherished memories that will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but while we grieve, we find peace in knowing she is now at rest in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and surrounded by His eternal love. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
